Coventry Cocker Spaniel Club was formed in 1951 and celebrated it’s 70th anniversary in 2021.
From 2023, the Club will hold two shows a year – an OPEN SHOW in May and a CHAMPIONSHIP SHOW in November. The shows are all open to members and non members but members have the benefit of reduced price entry fees.
Coventry Cocker shows are popular; the Open shows are usually held at Baginton, on the outskirts of Coventry, near the airport and the Championship shows at The Arena, The Sports Connexion, Ryton-on-Dunsmore.
The Open shows are friendly affairs with homemade refreshments and a wide variety of classes for all ages and colours of Cocker Spaniels. There is also a ‘Puppy Walk’ for 4-6month old puppies which gives them a first taste of the show world.
Coventry Cocker Spaniel Club always welcomes new members and exhibitors to the shows. The shows are also a meeting place for people who do not show so much now and would like to enjoy a day out among friends surrounded by their favourite breed of dog.
The Club is involved in organising the Cocker Spaniel stand for The Cocker Spaniel Club at Discover Dogs which is part of Crufts, Discover Dogs at Earl’s Court and The National Pet Show. Committee, members and friends bring their dogs to promote the breed to the general public.
