Coventry Cocker Spaniel Club was formed in 1951 and celebrates it’s 75th anniversary in 2026.
The Club will holds two shows a year – an OPEN SHOW in May and a CHAMPIONSHIP SHOW in November. The shows are all open to members and non members but members have the benefit of reduced price entry fees. Visitors are also welcome, parking is free as is entry. Visitor dogs need to be signed in on the day and there is a very small fee for them.
Coventry Cocker shows are popular; the Open shows are usually held at Baginton, on the outskirts of Coventry, near the airport and the Championship shows at The Arena, The Sports Connexion, Ryton-on-Dunsmore.
The Open shows are friendly affairs with homemade refreshments and a wide variety of classes for all ages and colours of Cocker Spaniels. There is also a ‘Puppy Walk’ for 4-6month old puppies which gives them a first taste of the show world. Championship shows have two judges and the classes are divided into dog and bitch classes. Placings in certain classes qualify dogs for Crufts’ the following year. Challenge Certificates and Reserve Challenge Certificates add towards the title of Show Champion. We also hold ‘Puppy Walks’ at the Championship show.

Coventry Cocker Spaniel Club always welcomes new members and exhibitors to the shows. The shows are also a meeting place for people who do not show so much now and would like to enjoy a day out among friends surrounded by their favourite breed of dog.
